Zinedine Yazid Zidane fondly called “Zizou“, is a retired French footballer and current manager of Real Madrid.
Winning the UEFA Champions League in his first season, the UEFA Super Cup, and the FIFA Club World Cup, 2016/2017 Laliga season and a back to back final appearance at the champions league and possibly a second UEFA Champions league title in two years are all achievements of Zidane in his few years as coach.
With spells at France national team, Cannes, Bordeaux, Juventus and Real Madrid renowned for his elegance, vision, ball control and technique,
Zidane was named in the FIFA 100, a list of the world’s greatest living players compiled by and was named the best European footballer of the past 50 years in the UEFA Golden Jubilee Poll and is widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time.
Before retiring in 2006, Zidane received the Golden Ball for player of the tournament at the 2006 World Cup, despite his infamous sending off in the final against Italy for headbutting Marco Materazzi in the chest.
After retirement, Zidane became assistant coach at Real Madrid under Carlo Ancelotti for the 2013–14 season,a season in which the club won the UEFA Champions League and Copa del Rey.
Zidane then became the coach of Real Madrid’s B team, Real Madrid Castilla before finally getting the managers spot in 2016.
